The vents in your ceiling or walls are the part of the system you can actually see. Supply diffusers push cool air into the room and return grilles pull air back to the unit, so both collect dust and, in humid conditions, can develop dark marks or mould-like spotting. Wiping the front only moves dust around: it settles in the fins and behind the vent.
We take each diffuser and grille down, wash and dry it, and clean the area behind it before it goes back. This is also a good way to see how dirty the ducts are.
