Tracing the Fault
We check fittings and the pipe route, and use a flow test where needed, to find where the drain is damaged or leaking.

Damaged drain pipes and joints repaired or replaced
In Brief
Drain pipe repair is fixing a drain pipe that is cracked, leaking, misaligned or has a failed joint. We trace where it is damaged, open only the section that needs it, repair or replace that part of the pipe, and test that water now flows away properly.
Not every drain problem is a blockage. A pipe can crack, a joint can come apart, a section can sag so water pools and debris collects, or a connection can leak under a sink or in a wall. These faults cause repeated blockages, damp patches, smells and sometimes water running down the inside of a wall.
We find the fault by checking the fittings and pipe along the route and, where needed, flushing water through to see where it escapes. We then repair or replace the damaged section, usually with new pipe and fittings of the same size, re-make the joints and check the fall. In some cases a repair is a short section; in others it means opening a wall or floor, and we explain beforehand. Pair this with drain cleaning if the line is also blocked, and see leak detection if water is escaping somewhere unseen.

Loose, cracked or leaking joints and fittings are re-made or replaced.
A cracked or broken length of pipe is cut out and replaced with new pipe of the same size.
Sagging or flat sections are re-supported or re-laid so water drains away rather than pooling.
Where a wall or floor has to be opened, we explain beforehand and leave it ready for finishing.
Water is run through the repaired section to confirm there are no leaks and that flow is steady.
Tell us where you see the damp, smell or leak, and send photos of the pipe or the area.
We follow the pipe and test flow to find where it is damaged and how much needs repair.
We explain whether it is a joint, a section or a larger repair, and confirm the price before starting.
The pipe is repaired or replaced, flow is tested and the area is left tidy for finishing.
Every property is different, so we confirm the price before any work starts. These are the things that most often change the time and cost.
A drain that keeps blocking after being cleared, damp or a smell near the pipe, or visible leaks at joints suggest damage. We check the pipe to confirm.
Yes. Waste water can soak walls and floors and cause smells and stains. It is worth tracing and repairing early.
Only if the damage is hidden. We trace first and open the smallest area needed, and explain before we do.
Often, yes, by re-supporting or re-laying the section so it falls correctly. We check the fall as part of the repair.
