Route Planning
We agree the cable route first, so cables follow walls, trunking or ceiling voids instead of crossing open spaces.

Neat wiring and a safe power connection for every camera
In Brief
CCTV cabling and power is the wiring that connects each camera to the recorder and to a power supply. Good cabling is tidy, protected and correctly terminated, and power is connected safely, because most CCTV faults trace back to poor cables, loose connectors or bad power.
Cameras get the attention, but the cables behind them decide whether a system works reliably. Each camera needs a route for its video signal and a source of power. Depending on the system, that is a network cable that also carries power, a coaxial cable with a separate power lead, or a wireless camera that still needs a power source. Whatever the type, the cable has to be protected, terminated properly and kept away from damage.
We plan the cable routes before drilling, run and fix the cables neatly, connect the connectors and power supplies, and isolate power before any electrical connection. This is useful for a new installation, for tidying up an exposed or messy older one, or when a camera has stopped working because of a cable fault. Cabling and power sit alongside our electrical works and our CCTV installation service.

We agree the cable route first, so cables follow walls, trunking or ceiling voids instead of crossing open spaces.
Cables are run and fixed neatly, protected where they pass outside or through walls, and hidden where the structure allows.
Connectors are fitted and checked so the signal reaches the recorder cleanly and the joints are not loose.
Power is connected safely, with the supply isolated before any electrical connection and adaptors placed sensibly.
Outdoor runs and joints are protected from sun, dust and moisture, which are common causes of faults on exposed cameras.
We can neaten exposed or messy cabling and replace damaged cables on an existing system.
We look at where the cameras and recorder are or will be, and where cables can run with the least visible wiring.
Power is isolated before any electrical connection, and routes are prepared before cables are fixed.
Cables are run and fixed, connectors are fitted, and each camera is connected to the recorder and power.
Each camera's picture and power are checked, and the recorder is confirmed to be saving footage.
Every property is different, so we confirm the price before any work starts. These are the things that most often change the time and cost.
Often, yes, using trunking, ceiling voids or routes inside walls where the structure allows. Where full concealment is not practical, we run cables neatly and protect them.
Common causes are a damaged cable, a loose or corroded connector, or an overloaded power supply. We trace the fault and repair it. See CCTV repair for what that involves.
Low-voltage camera power is simpler than mains wiring, but any connection to the mains supply should be done by a qualified electrician. Our electrical works team handles that.
Often, yes. We check whether the recorder has spare capacity and whether the cabling can reach the new positions, then confirm the price before starting.
No. We can repair, tidy or extend the cabling of an existing system as well as cable a new one.
